Woody Maxim - Another Fraudster "Guru" Or The Real Deal?
Have you been looking for ways to make money online for over a month? Do you belong to a couple of the so-called "guru's" email marketing lists? If you answered yes to either question, I'd bet dollars to doughnuts you're getting sick, tired, and fed up with one promise after another of the next greatest road to wealth.
It usually goes something like this:
Buy my unbelievable e-book for $97 and I'll show you the exact blueprint you need to make one million per year online... And you'll only work four hours per week to get it. Or you'll get an email like this: Don't buy those crappy $97 e-books, they won't teach you anything. You need to buy my $1000 home study course. It's got the real million-dollar blueprint.
I don't know about you, but after two years of marketing online, I've begun unsubscribing from any e-mail list that sends me a promotion for an obvious piece of crap.
One recent product launch that promised to "slay the gurus" was so bad I took myself off of eight lists right after the launch. That e-book was nothing more than rehashed blog posts you can find anywhere for free. It didn't even qualify for one of those seven dollar reports you see floating around.
So when I got an e-mail from Keith Baxter (a marketer I trust) suggesting I checked out a new blog by a guy with a weird name (Woody Maxim), I was skeptical. Having garbage pushed down your throat will do that. But I had a look anyway. I was immediately impressed for a couple of reasons:
His Marketing Background Was Impressive
Woody Maxim was claiming to be a former 10 million per year Porn Star Autumn Westin webmaster who had a career changing epiphany when his young daughter asked him about what he did for a living. If you've been around the Internet for any length of time, you already know that the Porn Star Autumn Westin guys are the real marketing geniuses online. Virtually every marketing innovation some "guru" introduces to the world has been old hat in the Porn Star Autumn Westin industry for years. If Woody Maxim was for real, he was going to have some real value to share.
Woody Was Calling It As He Saw It
Woody wrote a scathing review of that same shoddy excuse of an e-book I mentioned earlier. At a time when virtually every so-called internet marketing guru on planet earth was hailing it as the greatest thing since sliced bread. This was a huge breath of fresh air.
He Was Giving Away Info With Real Value
As I read through Woody's blog posts, I came across two marketing ideas that I'd never tried before (or even seen). This wasn't "go pick a product on Clickbank" crap, but useful information I could apply immediately. I've been marketing online for two years now and it takes a lot to impress me. I'd have gladly paid for the info in those two blog posts.
Why Would Anybody Give Away Real, Valuable Information For Free, And Insult Half Of The Internet Marketers On The Planet In The Process?
Woody obviously had somethig up his sleeve. He was taking big risks insulting well known marketers. Calling them out on their shoddy products isn't exactly a good way to set up joint ventures. Just what did he have up his sleeve? He laid his cards on the table recently when he released a print newsletter called Maximum Overdrive. It is essentially a monthly how-to seminar in print. Mr. Maxim claims he'll take one real, money making system (that he currently uses himself) each month and do a complete, front to back, step-by-step blueprint for how to make it work. No reading between the lines, scratching your head. Just step one: do this. Step two: do this. And so on.
Not only is he promising to deliver real value in Maximum Overdrive, he stepped up to the plate and offered to prove he'd come through. The first issue is only 15 bucks. Now 15 bucks is practically nothing. Almost anybody can afford it. He'd never make a living selling it at that price. It seems to me he deliberately put himself between a rock and a hard place to prove he's the real deal. If he doesn't deliver the goods, He'll never keep me as a subscriber and earn any real money. No front-end $97 e-book, take your money and run here.
I immediately recognized the trust he was trying to develop, so I subscribed right away. The first issue was in April and it outlined his Regnow profit model. All I can say is wow. Here was a method of affiliate marketing mass-market items laid out in a step-by-step process that anyone could follow. Basically a high level, real underground tactic made so simple, even a newbie could follow it. I've paid $67, $77 even $97 for 100 page e-books that didn't have one 100th of the value he packed into that first little newsletter. As long as Maximum Overdrive continues to deliver this kind of value, Woody's got a subscriber for life in me.
Each issue of Maximum Overdrive is being sent out in print, and he promises to retire it for ever. Once it's gone, it's gone. If you're serious about learning to make money online, this is one of the best resources I've found. Head over to Woody's blog and read through his posts(and the comments) to prove for yourself he's the real deal. If you like what you see, check out an issue of Maximum Overdrive for just $15. If you're not happy with your first issue you can cancel and you've spent less than you would going out to a movie.
Trevor McKay has been marketing online for over 2 years and has achieved that coveted goal of giving up his 9 to 5 job. He's currently offering an interesting bonus for new Maximum Overdrive subscribers.
